Information about innovative vehicles that combine features from different types of machines regularly appears on the internet. Standard motorcycles are great for navigating city traffic, allowing for easy movement through congestion by weaving between cars. However, a helicopter enables one to bypass traffic jams altogether.

The Rictor Skyrider X1 is a truly futuristic blend of a motorcycle and a helicopter, just as its name suggests.

Rictor Skyrider X1 – Next-generation flying motorcycle

The Rictor Skyrider X1, which debuted at CES 2025 in Las Vegas, represents the next step in the evolution of urban transportation. When a motorcyclist can no longer find space on the road, the use of hybrid propulsion allows for an ascent into the sky.

The Rictor Skyrider X1 is classified as an eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft). The manufacturer has implemented an innovative 4-axis system with 8 rotors, ensuring exceptional stability during flight, ideal for precise tasks.

The Skyrider X1 stands out with its lightweight structure based on carbon fiber composites and aircraft-grade aluminum, ensuring durability and excellent performance in demanding conditions. The device reaches an impressive maximum speed of 62 mph and allows for continuous flight for up to 40 minutes. However, the flight duration depends on the vehicle version:

  • X1 SL with a 10.5 kWh battery allows for a flight of 25 minutes,
  • X1 SX with a 21 kWh battery offers a flight of up to 40 minutes.

Ease of use, but also safety

The creators primarily ensured ease of use. The driver can utilize automatic takeoff and landing, and the vehicle plans the route itself, considering the battery level and current position. Flight parameters, including wind strength, are adjusted in real-time to prevailing weather conditions.

In the case of engine failure, the Rictor Skyrider X1 is equipped with safety technologies that allow for a safe landing and a rescue parachute. Additionally, redundant flight control systems ensure safe operation even if an engine fails.

When can you buy the Rictor Skyrider X1?

The motorcycle is scheduled for release in 2026, with a price tag of around $60,000. Although it's a considerable sum, the vehicle is considered a luxury gadget. Similar prototypes have previously been seen that did not make it to market due to certification difficulties.
