From real estate agent to a hero: The dual life of Dubai's disaster savior
On an average day, he serves as a real estate agent, but on the horrific night of the Dubai catastrophe, he became a lifeline for many. Deepak Mohan was actively involved in evacuating people from disaster-struck areas during the flood that lasted from Tuesday to Wednesday, earning him widespread acclaim as a hero.

Violent storms disrupted life in Dubai for several hours, leaving residents stranded and awaiting assistance. Among the rescuers was Deepak Mohan, a real estate agent passionate about off-roading.
Driving his 2000 Land Cruiser, Mohan could navigate the flooded streets effortlessly, unlike ordinary cars.
Mohan safely transported numerous individuals, including a nurse in the late stages of pregnancy, a woman in a wheelchair accompanied by her daughter, and a visiting family from Kazakhstan.
The community noticed these generous actions, and many expressed their deep appreciation for Mohan’s selfless efforts. He was celebrated as a hero in Dubai.

The 33-year-old recalls the ordeal began when he received a warning in his off-roading group chat around 2:30 PM ET.
I heard that a father and daughter were stranded at the World Trade Center metro station for hours, and I just had to assist them," he shared in an interview, highlighting that he never anticipated his act of kindness would extend into the wee hours.
He was prepared to conclude his rescue operations around midnight (ET), when he was alerted to a pregnant nurse and two other healthcare professionals trapped in a clinic in Al Barsha.
"Many thanks, you're an angel. You assisted us in a critical moment, when I was stuck at the airport with my elderly mother. I'm so grateful and pray that you're always blessed! Your driving skills are incredible!" - expressed one of the individuals he saved.
