From mourning daughter to murder suspect: South Carolina woman arrested for family Halloween massacre

Amy Vilardi and her husband, Rosmore "Ross" Vilardi, were taken into custody and charged with four counts of murder. This horrifying crime from 2015 spanned from late October to early November, causing shockwaves in the local Anderson County community.

In the television program, the spouses talked about the loss of loved ones, whom - as investigators suspect - they themselves deprived of life.

Amy, who resided on the same property as the victims, initially reported the grisly discovery to the police. She appeared on television, tearfully recounting her frightening experience.

"When I went to knock on the back door, the door just pushed open so I walked in and it was dark and I just flipped the light on and there they were. They were just, they were there. I don’t understand why any of it has happened and I just keep thinking it’s a dream I’m going to wake up from. Whoever did this, I don’t see how you can live with yourself," Amy said while her husband sat beside her.

The victims found on November 2, 2015, were likely killed several days prior. Three women and a man met their deaths either through gunshot wounds or stabbings with a sharp instrument.

Once mourning loved ones in 2015, now she stands accused of the crime

This unexplained crime from eight years past remained a mystery to investigators. Upon revisiting the case, Amy Vilardi and Rosmore "Ross" Vilardi were arrested at their home in Columbia.

According to the "New York Post", the police have assembled a press conference on the matter, but have chosen not to disclose any specific insights that led to the arrest of the Vilardis.

"Some things have to be preserved for our day in court," said the sheriff. The couple, who remain in jail without the option for bail, will face trial on February 20, 2024.
