Upon becoming a mother, Lisa Dove's life took a different trajectory. The demanding task of raising three children and holding down a job left her barely any room for self-care. At the tender age of 35, she was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and began an arduous journey with weight gain. By 2021, she was nearing 297 pounds (rounded).

"My life was so hectic, I couldn't find the time to hit the gym or cook a proper meal. It was much more convenient to pop into the drive-thru or grab a pizza, especially given that my occupation was a desk job where I spent 10-12 hours a day. Soon, I started gaining weight," she confessed in a candid interview with "Good Morning America".

Lisa dove into dieting and regular gym workouts

At the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Lisa Dove realized the urgency of prioritizing her health. She embarked on a crusade against obesity and diabetes, driven by her reliance on medication. She began by taking regular walks, which eventually led to her joining a gym. Here, she engaged with a personal trainer specializing in strength exercises. Lisa also enrolled in a specialized nutrition program.

Lisa shed more than 154 pounds

Due to her incredible resolve, she succeeded in shedding more than 158 pounds (rounded) within a year's time. Now, at 49 years old, she's in the best shape of her life, and her diabetes remains in remission. Lisa Dove shared her inspiring journey with the media. Appreciative comments poured in response to "Good Morning America"s posts on Instagram featuring her story.
