Living with a crocodile instead of a dog
The female crocodile, Gamora, carries the moniker of a famous character from the Marvel Universe. According to Jonathan, Gamora exhibits behavior akin to that of a dog. She traverses the house independently, even ascending and descending stairs, and enters her specially-made pond alone.
"I named her that way because when I got her, she was small, green, and aggressive. Her species is notorious for its aggression in the wild, but she's different. She has even participated in films and photo sessions as a model," said Araiza.
Jonathan acknowledges that having such an exotic pet is far from ordinary. There are only a few instances of crocodiles adapting so well to captivity that they allow physical touch, cuddles, or being relocated.
Gamora's diet comprises rabbits, rats, beef, chicken, and crustaceans. Jonathan ensures a balanced diet for her, sometimes introducing fish into her pond for her to "hunt" her meal.
Jonathan's fascination with exotic animals goes back years, and he deeply understands their care. He maintains an appropriate temperature at his home and installs special water filters and lounging areas for Gamora. Jonathan checks Gamora daily for any injuries.
Beyond having a crocodile, Jonathan also has two Chihuahua dogs and several tortoises. His unique passion has inspired his girlfriend to add a few reptiles to their collection. For her, Gamora's presence in their home is not bothersome.
