From Boy's Salute to Sweet Gesture: Ukrainian Pilots' Heartwarming Response Amid War

A boy living near the conflict zone waved at Ukrainian military personnel flying above him, doing so with a flag. The pilots, moved by his gesture, decided to land in a nearby field to thank him personally. They brought toys, sweets, and food for his family.

In a heartwarming act of reciprocity, Ukrainian military personnel landed their helicopter near the boy's home. Each time they flew missions in the area, he waved the Ukrainian flag to show his support. This time, they came bearing gifts of toys, sweets, and food for his family, as reported by Ukrainian media.

Night attack on Ukraine intensifies

Saturday witnessed intense ongoing shelling of Russian targets across Ukraine. In particular, Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia suffered, with 10 lives tragically lost.

Ukrainian air defense forces demonstrated resilience by shooting down two Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles and a Kalibr cruise missile. Additionally, they intercepted 28 out of 32 Shahed-131/136 drones launched by Russian forces in a single night attack from Friday to Saturday. General Mykola Oleschuk, the commander of the Ukrainian air forces, confirmed this.

“Russian forces launched a comprehensive attack using 32 Shahed-131/136 drones from Primorsko-Akhtarsk and Kursk. The offensive also included six different types of missile rockets: three anti-air S-300 guided missiles from the Belgorod region, two Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles from strategic aviation aircraft in the Saratov region, and one Kalibr cruise missile from the Black Sea,” the commander detailed on Telegram.

In Odesa, a critical defense was mounted as a missile launched by a Russian bomber over the Black Sea was successfully intercepted and shot down.
