From Australia to Saudi Arabia: The world's new longest straight road
Perfectly long straights are often associated with the United States or Australia. However, the record-holding road is not in either of those countries. Surprising, isn’t it?

The longest straight stretch of road in the world is located in Saudi Arabia, on Highway 10, which connects Ad Darb near the Red Sea with Al Batha near the Persian Gulf.
The entire route stretches about 916 miles, but the perfectly straight segment is "only" about 149 miles. This is enough to earn it the title of the longest straight road in the world, as well as a place in the Guinness World Records.
It's noteworthy that this record-breaking stretch is not only free of curves but also lacks major elevations. The road sees a fair amount of traffic, especially from trucks. Sand poses a significant hazard, frequently accumulating on the road in large amounts.
A few years ago, this straight in Saudi Arabia claimed the prestigious title from the well-known Eyre Highway in Australia, an 87-mile stretch previously considered the longest straight segment globally.
