"Friends" star Matthew Perry dies at 54
Matthew Perry, well-known for his role in the iconic television series "Friends," has passed away at the age of 54. The actor was discovered lifeless in a hot tub at his Los Angeles residence within the Saturday afternoon, said a report published in "The Los Angeles Times" quoting police officials.
The actor was declared dead by the emergency services just after 4 pm on Saturday. According to Los Angeles police detectives specialized in homicide cases, they have not disclosed the cause of Perry's death owing to an active investigation.
Media, citing an anonymous police official, reported no drugs or signs of foul play at the event site.
Perry was born on August 19, 1969, in Williamstown, Massachusetts, and spent a significant part of his childhood in Canada before relocating to Los Angeles.
International fame knocked on the actor's door for his portrayal of Chandler Bing in the much-loved series "Friends".
