The cosmonauts created SpaceX's Crew-7 mission, which launched on August 26, 2023. The crew consists of NASA astronaut Jasmin Moghbeli, ESA (European Space Agency) Andreas Mogensen from Denmark, JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) Satoshi Furukawa, and Roscosmos' Konstantin Borisov.
Crew-7 was sent to the ISS as part of the Commercial Crew Program, which is controlled by several space agencies and private companies, such as NASA, SpaceX, Sierra Nevada, and Boeing. The Crew-7 landing in Florida will be broadcast on the Associated Press' YouTube channel on Tuesday around 5:50 a.m. EDT.
A week ago, another SpaceX cosmonaut team, Crew-8, was sent to the ISS to substitute Crew-7. This crew was combined from NASA Matthew Dominick, Michael Barratt, Jeanette Epps, and Alexander Grebenkin from Russian Roscosmos. Their task on ISS will be to conduct numerous experiments and supervise the arrival of two other ships during their six-month stay.
