Electronic Arts has signed a contract with two-time World Champion of Formula 1, Max Verstappen. As a result, Verstappen will become one of the faces of EA Sports. Under the signed agreement, EA Sports will place its logo on the chinstrap of Verstappen's helmet for the 2023 Formula 1 season. However, the company emphasizes that this move is just the beginning.

The newly signed agreement also stipulates that Verstappen will collaborate with Electronic Arts on various levels, directly contributing to creating content for the EA Sports portfolio. This decision was dictated mainly by Electronic Arts taking over Codemasters studio in 2021, which is known for developing the digital versions of F1 races.

"Max is a relentless competitor and a born winner who shares our profound love for gaming. We are thrilled to have him on board as he continues to make history in Formula 1. As one of the top athletes globally, he will attract more fans to the experiences that EA Sports creates," says Andrea Hopelain, SVP of Brand for EA Sports and Racing.

"EA Sports has always played a significant role in my life, whether gaming with friends or competing off the track," says Max Verstappen. "EA Sports represents millions of fans worldwide, and I am honored to represent them during the 2023 season."

In recent years, Max Verstappen has emerged as the clear leader of the Formula 1 world. During the 2021 season, he grabbed the world championship title towards the season's end. He followed it up the next year by dominating his competitors to such an extent that he secured the championship several races before the season's conclusion.
