Former Wagner mercenary kills woman after release from prison

Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, Russia has been facing increased crime involving former soldiers. There is a particular focus on cases where criminals recruited into the Wagner Group directly from penal colonies have returned to society due to amnesty.

This was also the case with Aleksandar Tiumakov, who reduced his 2016 sentence due to his fight in the Wagner Group. At that time, he was sentenced to 10 years and 10 months in a penal colony for robbery and the murder of a minor. However, he was released in 2022 and sent directly to the front.

Tiumakov was sentenced for petty theft. In February 2016, he received 10 years and 10 months in prison for robbery, property destruction, and the murder of a minor or other defenseless person. In December 2022, he was drafted into the Wagner Group, and after serving in Ukraine, he returned home with three medals – as reported by journalists from "Nastojaszczeje Wriemia."

Now, Tiumakov will return behind bars. According to the Telegram channel "Syrena," he allegedly violated and then murdered a 32-year-old mother of three on the riverbank in the village of Anuchino. He completed his cruelty by attempting to dispose of the body. According to journalists, he placed the woman's body inside a car, which he then set on fire.

During the investigation, the former Wagnerite supposedly confessed to the alleged crimes, explaining them as the result of an argument. He reportedly knew the woman well, but that did not stop him from committing the atrocity. As a result, the District Court in the Anuchinsky district sentenced him to seven years in a maximum-security penal colony. Likely, he will soon return to the front.
