Former Trump advisor calls for deportation of Elon Musk
The New York Times reports that Steve Bannon, a former advisor to Donald Trump, has urged the swift deportation of Elon Musk. Tensions between Trump and Musk are escalating amid growing controversy over Musk’s withdrawal from DOGE.
Stephen K. Bannon has been among the most vocal critics of Elon Musk since the Tesla owner became a presidential advisor. A former White House Chief Strategist is said to be pressuring Trump to cancel all of Musk's government contracts and begin several investigations into the billionaire's life.
"They should initiate a formal investigation of his immigration status, because I am of the strong belief that he is an illegal alien, and he should be deported from the country immediately," said Bannon.
Bannon also accuses Musk of putting private interests before those of national importance. Former presidential advisor also questioned the legality of Musk obtaining American citizenship, which was the subject of an article in "The Washington Post." Additionally, Steve Bannon calls for an investigation into Musk's alleged substance abuse that came into light after the publication of a widely discussed NYT article about a billionaire's life.
Dispute over the budget bill
On Thursday, Donald Trump and Elon Musk traded sharp accusations on their respective social media platforms. President Trump threatened to terminate Musk’s government contracts, while Musk retaliated by alleging Trump’s ties to the Epstein scandal.
Once close political allies, the two billionaires, each owning their own media platform, have now become open rivals. Their online clash marked the beginning of a public feud, rooted in a dispute over the controversial "One Big Beautiful Bill Act."
