Javier de Pedro earned the title of Real Sociedad legend. He played for the club from 1994 to 2003. After leaving, he drifted between teams and never played a significant role in any, which led to his decision to retire from soccer in 2007.
The 13-time Spanish international intended to start a coaching career, but that did not succeed. It's not surprising, considering the scandalous situations involving him.
In 2009, de Pedro was convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol and without a valid driver's license. Later, in 2010, his partner accused him of sending her threats of a sexual nature. At that time, he was sentenced to 51 days of community service.
Then, in January 2018, he was arrested on charges of assaulting his partner. He was held accountable and released from custody.
Meanwhile, the newspaper "El Diario Vasco" reports that on Tuesday (June 11), the Spaniard was sent to prison in Martutene, where he will serve a nine-month sentence for sexual violence. The arrest occurred at his workplace after being sought due to a court order for detention following a final verdict. De Pedro repeatedly changed his residence, which created problems in locating him.
Ultimately, he was apprehended, and two days before being placed in jail, another woman filed a report of an attack by him. Due to his aggression, she had to undergo surgery for fractures of her elbow and radial arm bones.
