With profound sadness, I announce the passing of my beloved mother, Amalija. Amalija Knavs was a resilient woman who defined grace, warmth, and dignity. She was wholly devoted to her husband, daughters, grandson, and son-in-law. We will greatly miss her and continue to respect and honor her legacy.
Melania Trump did not disclose the cause of her mother's death. However, it is presumed that she had been seriously ill in recent weeks. As per unofficial information, during a New Year's party at Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, the former president allegedly mentioned that Amalija had fallen seriously ill and hinted that she was receiving medical treatment in Miami.
The absence of Melania Trump at the New Year's party supports this information. There are many signs indicating that her mother's health was critical at that time.
Amalija Knavs, sponsored by Melania for a green card, had lived in the United States for many years. She and her husband, Victor, became US citizens in 2018. American media reports state that Amalija was close to her daughter and maintained a nurturing relationship with her grandson, Barron Trump.
