Former F1 wife Cora slams Ralf Schumacher over secret gay romance

Cora Schumacher, Ralf Schumacher's former wife, broke her silence after her ex-husband revealed he was in a relationship with a man. She claims she feels used and wasted her best years learning about everything on social media.

Ralf Schumacher, a Formula 1 driver and brother of Michael Schumacher, came out as homosexual. He announced in July this year that he is in a relationship with his business manager, Etienne. They made their relationship public via Instagram.

Cora was married to Schumacher for 14 years. The couple divorced in 2015. Now, in an interview with the German magazine "Der Spiegel," she expressed her frustration, saying she "feels used" and believes she wasted her best years.

She also admitted that during her ex-husband's F1 career, there were many rumors about his orientation circulating in the paddock.

I asked him to clarify if what they were saying was true, but he always denied it, saying that I was exaggerating everything and that maybe I needed psychological help — recalls Cora.

The athlete's ex-wife does not hide that his coming out was like a punch to the heart.

Today, I feel used in the marriage. I feel like I wasted my best years. I ask myself many questions. Was he honest with me? And something even more important crosses my mind: Did he love me? I trusted him blindly — said the devastated Schumacher.

She emphasized that coming out always affects the person revealing themselves, including the ex-wife with whom one has a child. Cora and Ralf's several-year relationship resulted in their now-adult son, David. The young man reacted entirely differently to his father's coming out.

I am very happy that you finally found someone with whom you truly feel very good and safe, regardless of whether it is a man or a woman — he wrote on social media.

According to Carmen Geiss, an actress and close friend of the couple, Ralf Schumacher has been in a relationship with Etienne for two years. They met in 2022 in Monaco.
