According to certification data for the US market, the GTD version is the most powerful and fastest Mustang in history. The 5.2-liter V8 engine, with the help of a supercharger, produces a whopping 826 HP. Even more impressive is the maximum torque, which stands at 664 lb-ft. These numbers enable it to reach speeds of up to 202 mph.

Notably, the GTD will excel not only in straight-line speed. To prove it, Ford aims to conquer the Nürburgring in under 7 minutes. Carbon-ceramic brakes, a suspension system with semi-active shock absorbers, and advanced aerodynamics aid in this feat.

"We’ve been laser-focused from day one to create a supercar with world-class performance and the soul of a Mustang," said Greg Goodall, chief engineer of the Mustang GTD program. "The GTD’s heart is its 5.2-liter V8, delivering more horsepower per liter than the Porsche 911 GT3 RS."

It is not yet known exactly how many units Ford intends to produce. However, it will certainly be significantly fewer than the number of interested buyers. It is worth mentioning that 7,500 people are already on the waiting list. As you can see, $510,000 did not deter potential customers.
