Ford Mustang GT California Special unveiled as tribute to its 1968 ancestor

Ford officially unveiled the latest GT California Special version of the Mustang yesterday. This is already the third special edition of this model.
After introducing the extreme Dark Horse variant and the race-ready GTD, Ford is back with a more lifestyle-centered edition of the Mustang: the California Special. This version pays homage to its predecessor from 1968.
The most notable updates pertain to the color scheme, particularly the blue accents inspired by the paintwork of the original model. These accents can be seen on the wheels and in the radiator grille. It's worth mentioning that the grille itself has been redesigned - the honeycomb structure has been replaced by horizontal strips.
Apart from the new color scheme, distinguishing features of the GT/CS model include decorative stripes on the sides of the body and dimmed headlights. The interior also reflects the color scheme of the bodywork, enhancing its visual appeal.
Navy blue has been skillfully paired with black. The car sports two types of upholstery - a tasteful combination of fabric and leather. Completing the aesthetic are blue stitching and California Special markings.
The car will make its official debut at the Cars & Coffee event in Los Angeles today, and will later be displayed at the Los Angeles Auto Show, just five days later. We now know that enthusiasts interested in this variant will need to pay an additional 1995 dollars over the price of the GT Premium version.
