Forbidden before bedtime. It's better not to take them in the evening
Vitamins are essential for the proper functioning of our body - they play key roles in many metabolic and physiological processes. However, it's important to remember that not every time of day is suitable for supplementation. There are vitamins that taking just before sleep will do more harm than good!

Vitamin C
Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, is a powerful antioxidant that plays a key role in collagen production, wound healing, and the proper functioning of the immune system.
In many cases, patients take vitamin C to boost their immune system, especially during periods of increased incidence of colds or flu.
Consuming vitamin C before sleep, however, can lead to some problems.
Even if we eat meals right before bedtime (which is not recommended!), our stomach will empty overnight. Vitamin C is acidic - if the stomach is empty, it can cause reflux or irritate the mucous membrane. Therefore, it should be consumed on a full stomach and during the day.
Ascorbic acid may increase urine production. Consuming a large amount of vitamin C before sleep may lead to the need to get up in the night to go to the bathroom, which disrupts peaceful sleep.
Vitamin D
Vitamin D is crucial for bone health, as it helps in the absorption of calcium. In addition, it plays an important role in the immune system, muscle function, and mood regulation.
Consuming vitamin D before sleep may result in disruption of the circadian rhythm. Vitamin D can affect the production of melatonin, the hormone responsible for regulating the circadian rhythm. Increased or decreased production of melatonin at the wrong time may disrupt the natural sleep and wake cycle.
For many patients, proper vitamin dosage planning can benefit both their overall health and sleep quality.
If you're considering dosage of vitamins or supplements, consult a doctor or pharmacist.
