We all know that without the right amount of fruits in our diet, our health and overall condition can suffer. So, we stock our homes with fresh produce from the local shop and always try to have it on hand. However, this diligent effort comes with an unpleasant consequence: as you probably know, fruits are not very time-resistant.
Especially in the summer, the rotting of fruits, loss of flavor, and molding become particularly troublesome. You would certainly give a lot to avoid this. According to Marta Zaleska, a Polish food technologist who occasionally shares her professional secrets on social media, achieving a positive result doesn't require much. And no, you don’t need any particular apparatus. What you already have at home is enough.
Food technologist advises: Do this, and fruits will stay fresh longer
Recently, the food technologist posted a video on Instagram showing her weekly strawberries. How did they look? Well, just like they were freshly picked. So, how is that possible? The answer is in the same video.
According to the specialist, we only need a bowl, paper towel, and plate to store berries such as strawberries or blueberries. Of course, we can also use a plastic, sealable food container. Either way, we must ensure that the fruits we store are not exposed to continuous contact with air. Besides, we only need to do one more thing: cover our strawberries with a paper towel.
That's all, and so much more. As the expert rightly pointed out, we often complain that fruits are expensive. At the same time, they are the ones we throw away most frequently due to spoilage. Therefore, it’s worth preventing this—even for your economic satisfaction.
