The trapped persons comprise a three-member family and two tour guides. Seeking refuge in the safe zone of Krizna Jama cave, the group now awaits help in this location, which spans over five miles and is typically accessed via boat.

Officials reported on Saturday evening that rescuers succeeded in delivering essential supplies to those trapped. Among the delivered items were food, water, and a heated tent designed to offer them shelter as they await further help.

As per Reuters, the STA news agency suggests that the principal rescue operation is contingent upon the fall of the water level. This could occur as early as Sunday evening or even take a few days, depending on weather conditions.

Krizna Jama is home to stunning subterranean lakes with emerald-green water. It boasts an impressive array of biodiversity, making it one of the most distinctive spots in Slovenia.
