Fire at Russian military hospital: 57 evacuated, no injuries

A fire broke out at a military hospital in Tula, affecting about 11,000 square feet.

The fire started on the third floor of the building of the 39th Separate Medical Unit of the Airborne Forces shortly after 7 AM Eastern Time. Fifty-seven people were evacuated from the hospital, including conscripts who were receiving treatment.

No one was killed or injured.

According to media reports, the fire spread to the roof. In total, about 11,000 square feet were affected by the blaze.

Preliminary information from the authorities suggests that the cause of the fire was a short circuit in the electrical installation.
