President Alexander Stubb emphasized that "Vladimir Putin should not be persuaded to engage in peace talks, but should be forced into them."

Putin only understands tough, harsh language (the U.S. President - ed.) Donald Trump is currently using, the politician assessed.

Stubb expressed moderate optimism about Donald Trump's plans to end the war swiftly. He believes there is no risk that peace talks will occur without Ukraine's involvement.

The politician stated that European countries should "somehow" participate in peace talks, adding, "The future security architecture of the continent is being decided."

The Finnish president also stated that breaking off contact with Putin after the outbreak of the full-scale war "was not a mistake." He added that it was "pointless" for Finland to renew these ties without its allies after the war.
