The fall and winter seasons do not bless us with the lingering heat of summer sunbeams or bodies saturated with vitamin D. Waiting times to see doctors are worryingly lengthening, and the concerning sounds of sneezing and sniffling are becoming prevalent in the streets. Consequently, the solution becomes clear: it's time to enhance our immunity before our only recourse appears to be potent pharmaceutical drugs and a seemingly endless period of sick leave.

Some time ago, we provided an article about an anti-cold diet outlining what the body needs to fend off fall and winter illnesses. Components such as beta-carotene, zinc, vitamin C, selenium, and unsaturated fatty acids were identified as necessary. However, in retrospect, the mention of black honey was conspicuously absent. It's time to rectify this oversight and enlighten you about this extraordinary product.

Black honey: A nature's miracle bolstered by human intervention

Let's begin with this - black honey is not a completely natural product. However, this doesn't mean it was concocted in an industrial lab using synthetic additives. Rest assured, you don't have to be concerned about that. Black honey's unusual color is owed to natural additives that elevate its already remarkable health benefits.

The essential component of black honey is the black seed. Integrating oil and seeds from this spice into honey enriches it with bioactive compounds that stimulate the immune system. Additionally, it exhibits anti-inflammatory, antifungal, and antiviral properties. The combination of these ingredients, along with the inclusion of ginger in the recipe, is a perfect recipe for improving immunity. Just one teaspoon a day can make a perceptible difference. But how do you produce black honey?

Black Honey Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of natural honey
  • 2 tablespoons of black seed oil
  • 2 tablespoons of black seeds
  • 2 teaspoons of ground ginger
  • 1/2 cup of water

Method of preparation:

  1. Pour the water into a saucepan. Add the ginger and black seeds (you can also grind them for a more intense black color). Heat this mixture for 10 minutes without allowing the water to boil.
  2. Add the honey and black seed oil to a bath of warm water, ensuring their temperature doesn't exceed 100-104 Fahrenheit.
  3. Once the ingredients have cooled, combine them. Enjoy your homemade black honey!
