Stuffed chicken drumsticks provide an affordable and unique choice for a meal. A stuffing made of widely available and inexpensive ingredients results in a meal that's economical enough to feed the whole family.

One can further cut down energy-related expenses by pairing the main dish with baked potatoes cooked in the same oven.

Chicken drumsticks with stuffing: required ingredients

  • 8 chicken drumsticks
  • 8-10 mushrooms
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 onion
  • Oil for cooking
  • Half a block of cheese for grating
  • Sweet pepper, salt, and pepper to taste

Chicken drumsticks with stuffing: preparation method

  • With a sharp, thin knife, cut pieces of meat from under the drumstick skin. Chop them into small pieces.
  • Chop the vegetables and mushrooms, then fry them in a pan with the diced meat and seasoning.
  • Grate the cheese using a grater with large holes and sprinkle it over the stuffing.
  • Thoroughly mix the stuffing and stuff it under the skin of the drumstick.
  • Arrange the stuffed drumsticks in an ovenproof dish. Sprinkle the top with pepper, and add "leaves" of cold butter – this will result in crunchier chicken skin.
  • Bake for an hour in an oven that has been preheated to 350°F.
  • Serve with potatoes.
