The largest La Liga clubs have recently decided to renovate their stadiums. FC Barcelona chose to expand the legendary Camp Nou, which necessitated Robert Lewandowski and the team moving to a temporary facility last season.
After the conclusion of Euro 2024, club president Joan Laporta and players like Lamine Yamal and Pedri visited the construction site. The visit allowed journalists and fans to observe the renovation's progress. The revamped Camp Nou is steadily taking shape.
Club operations director Joan Sentelles revealed that FC Barcelona's stadium revenues will increase by $290 million annually compared to pre-renovation figures.
A new addition to Camp Nou will be a viewing platform. It will be located above the stands and allow visitors to see the entire stadium from it.
Joan Sentelles revealed that revenues from the viewing platform are estimated at $2.7 million annually, which translates to approximately 10 million złotych. This represents a substantial financial boost for the Catalan team.
Assuming that a ticket to the viewing platform would cost around $21 and could be used daily, about 300 visitors per day would be needed to meet revenue projections. This seems realistic, given that Barcelona is one of the most popular cities for tourists in Europe, and FC Barcelona is a global brand.
