Fava bean patties: The ultimate vegetarian dinner delight
When the fava bean season begins, I try to make the most of this time, not only by cooking and serving them with dill and butter but also by preparing delicious patties. This is a simple and tasty recipe for a delicious dinner for the whole family.
When I see a bag of green, firm fava beans at the stall, I can't imagine not buying at least one portion. The season is relatively short, so I try to eat a lot of this vegetable in advance, hoping I won't miss it too soon. Boiled fava beans with butter, garlic pressed through a garlic press, and salt are prevalent, but this vegetable has even more significant potential.
Fava bean and potato patties - a vegetarian dinner
Fava beans are rich in plant-based protein, which is perfectly complemented by the carbohydrates from potatoes. As legumes, they also contain a significant amount of fiber, which makes the patties filling and provides lasting energy. Fava beans give them a slightly sweet taste that goes well with potatoes. It's worth cooking an extra portion of potatoes for dinner the day before, which can be used to make fava bean patties. This significantly cuts down on meal preparation time.
You can serve them as a main dish with your favorite sides, such as coleslaw or sauce, or as a snack. They taste so good that no one will miss the classic minced meat patties. It's the light taste of summer encapsulated in vegetarian patties.
