The star of the "Fast and Furious" series, Tyrese Gibson, was taken into custody in Atlanta after another turbulent hearing regarding child support. The judge ordered him to pay over $73,000 to his former partner, Samantha Lee, to avoid jail time.

The actor appeared in Fulton County Superior Court to settle a dispute with his ex-wife, with whom he shares a daughter, Soraya. In April 2023, Gibson was obligated to pay $10,600 monthly in child support. However, Judge Kevin Farmer found him guilty of not paying the full amount and ordered his arrest.
According to TMZ reports, Gibson was making partial payments of only $2,200 per month—less than 25 percent of the amount set by the court. He made his bed; now he has to lie in it. As reported by the media, the actor was released from custody after his lawyer intervened. They also managed to postpone the payment of over $70,000, which he owes his daughter.
Interestingly, Gibson predicted his arrest on Instagram, criticizing Judge Farmer and the family court system. He believed fathers were being treated unfairly. He also accused his ex-wife's lawyers of colluding with the judge. The actor and Samantha Lee married in 2017, but she filed for divorce just three years later. During a hearing in 2022, a quarrel broke out between the former spouses over the star's earnings. Afterward, the actor complained to the media that his ex "took 50 percent of his earnings."
Samantha Lee was the actor's second wife. He was previously married to Norma Gibson. They split in 2009 and had one child. There is no information about whether the actor is also delinquent on payments for his older child. However, he is publicly battling his second wife. They have been dragging each other to court since their divorce in 2022. During the 2023 hearing, the judge told the actor, "This is not a punishment. Give the child the money she deserves."
Let's add that Gibson's latest blockbuster is "Fast X" from 2023. The film grossed over $700 million worldwide. The final film in the series is slated for release in 2025.
