Jimmy Mitchel, known online for frequently traveling with his wife, Pauline, and their two children, was supposed to fly from Sydney to Brisbane, Australia. Unfortunately, he was barred from boarding because he took a photo of his family on the airport tarmac.
The flight attendant called the traveler an idiot
“This is the worst experience I’ve ever had flying. I try to get on the plane. I take a photo of my kids as they get on the plane in flight mode, and the lady calls me an idiot,” said Jimmy. The flight attendant stated she wouldn't allow him on the plane and that the police would arrive soon, as he shared in a video published on TikTok.
Unbeknownst to him, airport staff had issued a notice prohibiting the use of cell phones on the tarmac while the plane was refueling. Mitchell mentioned he was wearing noise-canceling headphones, which prevented him from hearing the announcement.
Passenger demands an apology from the airline
Shocked by the encounter, Mitchell returned to the terminal to wait for further instructions. Eventually, he was able to board the plane and join his family. However, he was outraged by the treatment he received from the airline employee and now expects an apology from the airline.
“I turned around in disbelief because I was halfway up the stairs at this point. I basically stormed over to her and I was like, ‘Are you serious? What did you just call me?'" He added that if the flight attendant had simply asked him to put away his phone, he would have complied. Instead, she resorted to yelling and calling him an idiot, he explains.
