FAA launches urgent safety review after tragic airport crash
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has begun reviewing the safety protocols at high-traffic airports in the United States. This action follows a recent tragic incident.
The FAA announced on Thursday that it has initiated a detailed safety review at U.S. airports with a high volume of airplane and helicopter traffic.
This decision was made following the crash near Reagan Airport in Washington, D.C. A passenger plane collided with a military helicopter, resulting in 67 fatalities.

Republican Senator Ted Cruz, the chairman of the Senate Committee on Commerce, requested this review from the FAA.
After the crash, the FAA significantly restricted helicopter flights near the airport, at least until the end of February. Two runways remain closed.
