Between January and February 2025, several Russian non-governmental organizations sent approximately 80 sets of Skyzone Cobra FPV goggles to various military units in Russia. These organizations received the equipment from an individual who provided it as assistance for the Russian military, reports the "Spy Dossier" channel.

On February 4, in the Belgorod region, the first set of goggles exploded, resulting in the soldier using it sustaining facial and eye injuries.

According to the channel's author, who claims to be an employee of one of the special services, seven additional explosions of these devices were recorded in the Kursk, Luhansk, and Donetsk regions by February 7.

The remains of the goggles were immediately examined. It was discovered that they contained C-4 explosive material, a detonator, and a battery. The explosive device is activated when the goggles' cooling fan is turned on.

Russian services are currently searching for all the goggles distributed by non-governmental organizations.

According to "Spy Dossier," the man who provided the goggles to non-governmental organizations left Russian territory on February 3. He flew from Moscow to Istanbul.

Ukrainian services are currently silent

Ukrainian services have not yet commented on the reports from the "Spy Dossier" channel.

The Ukrainian service "Militarnyi" claims that this operation is reminiscent of one carried out by the Israeli Mossad against Hezbollah militants. It refers to an incident on September 16, 2024, when pagers distributed by the Iran-backed terrorist organization Hezbollah exploded, killing at least 12 and injuring over 2,800 people in Lebanon and Syria.
