Explosive attack in Moscow injures high-ranking military officer

In the northern part of Moscow, the car belonging to Andrei Torgashev, the deputy head of the satellite communications center of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, was blown up. Reports indicate severe injuries.

ASTRA on the Telegram platform cites eyewitness accounts of the explosion, indicating that Andrei Torgashev "had his legs blown off."

The report indicates that the explosive device detonated as the soldier was getting into the car - reads the unian.ua portal.

Preliminary findings indicate that the Russian officer was accompanied by his wife. She was also injured.

The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs claims that the cause of the car explosion was the detonation of an explosive device previously installed in it.

Explosion in Moscow. Investigation launched

The authorities have announced the initiation of an investigation and criminal proceedings.

In connection with the incident that occurred on Sinyavinskaya Street in Moscow, which resulted in damage to a car and injuries to its owner and a passenger, the investigative bodies of the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation have decided to initiate criminal proceedings - reads the official communication.

Earlier, in June, in the Rostov region, the car of the chief of staff of a military unit was blown up. It is believed that an improvised explosive device was planted in the car.
