Explosions rock Cuba: Search underway for 13 missing soldiers

Thirteen Cuban soldiers went missing following explosions at an ammunition depot in the Holguin province, located 435 miles from Havana. Authorities are actively investigating the incident.

According to officials, the explosions were triggered by a fire that ignited during construction work. An investigation is currently underway to determine the details surrounding this incident. The missing include four officers and nine soldiers.

Evacuation and authorities' response

Following the explosions, authorities evacuated 361 people from nearby areas to ensure their safety.

Recordings shared on social media depict flames and plumes of dark smoke rising above the treetops.

Cuban authorities continue their efforts to locate the missing soldiers and to secure the affected area.
