Explosion rocks Berlin police station; investigation underway
On Thursday evening, an explosion occurred in front of a police building in Berlin, injuring two officers. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
The explosion took place in the northern part of Berlin. According to a spokesperson for the Berlin police, two officers were injured as a result.
Investigation into the explosion
The Berlin police reported that an "unknown object" placed near the station's fence exploded. As a result of the explosion, a policeman suffered serious facial and eye injuries, and a policewoman went into shock. Both officers were on a "routine security patrol."
An investigation is currently underway to determine what exactly exploded in front of the police building and whether the explosion was a deliberate attack.
