The individual who reported the explosion claimed it happened on an unoccupied parcel of land behind the Israeli embassy. A specialist police team, along with demolition experts, were dispatched to the scene. They found nothing suspicious, according to the report, and there have been no casualties or property damage reported.

"We can confirm that an explosion took place near the embassy at approximately 18:00 local time (4:00 AM Eastern Time)," Guy Nir, spokesperson for the Israeli embassy in India, told Reuters. "Local police and security teams are now investigating the incident," he added during his discussion with the agency.

Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs responds to New Delhi explosion

The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that no employees were injured in the explosion and Israeli authorities are collaborating with their Indian counterparts to investigate the cause of the explosion.

"So far, the local fire department hasn't found any suspicious traces during their operations," Atul Garg, a senior fire department officer told the Indian news agency ANI, as cited by Reuters.

In January 2021, a small bomb exploded close to the Israeli embassy in New Delhi. No injuries were reported, but an Israeli official treated the explosion as a terrorist incident.
