In the temporarily occupied Berdiansk, a car belonging to Yevhen Ananiew, who was affiliated with a penal colony established by the occupying authorities, exploded. Ananiew was dubbed the "creator of a torture chamber" within the facility, according to HUR.

The explosion occurred on Sunday at around 3:40 AM Eastern Time.

"Today in Berdiansk, resistance movement members targeted a penal colony worker. They detonated the vehicle of the betrayer," Petro Andriushchenko, an advisor loyal to Kyiv's mayor of Mariupol, reported on Sunday via his Telegram channel.

Andriushchenko revealed that the owner of the vehicle succumbed to his injuries on the spot.

Collaborator eliminated, confirms HUR

The Ukrainian military intelligence (HUR) released a statement about the Berdiansk explosion. The collaborator was identified as "one of the instigators behind the torture chambers in penal colony No. 77".

"The explosion resulted in the elimination of Ananiewski, who had a role in the torture of Ukrainian prisoners," the statement said. "HUR emphasizes that each war crime will face justice," it added.
