Explosion and drone attack rock Russian cities, targeting key sites

As reported by Novaya Gazeta Europe, the explosion in Yekaterinburg occurred at an electrical substation tasked with transmitting electricity to three defense industry enterprises.

The explosion happened between Friday, March 1, and Saturday, March 2. So far, there have been no reports of casualties. Telegram channels such as Shot and Mash have reported finding traces of explosives at the explosion site.

Drone attack in St. Petersburg

Following this, on the morning of Saturday, March 2, a residential building in St. Petersburg, located in the northwest of Russia, sustained damage. According to Novaya Gazeta Europe, the building was struck by a drone.

Furthermore, the Ukrainian Truth portal reported that the damage resulted from the actions of Russian anti-aircraft defenses.

According to the Mash channel, the drone attack, which was allegedly carried out by the Ukrainian army, involved approximately 7.7 pounds of explosives. Kyiv has yet to make any comments regarding these reports.

The intended target of the attack might have been a fuel base, located about 0.62 miles from the impacted building, as reported by the Meduza service. In relation to this incident, six individuals sought medical attention.
