Financial security is crucial, and a simple PIN code can jeopardize it. An expert has provided a list of the easiest PIN codes to crack. Check if yours is on the list and find out how to protect your funds from scammers.
In today's world, safeguarding your finances is extremely important. One of the basic security measures is the PIN code, used for payment transactions and ATM withdrawals.
According to "pomorska.pl," former Microsoft employee Nick Berry analyzed a database of stolen files and created a list of the simplest PIN codes that are frequently broken by fraudsters.
Nick Berry noted that codes such as 1-2-3-4, 1-1-1-1, 0-0-0-0, 1-2-1-2, and 7-7-7-7 are most often chosen by users, making them easy targets for criminals.
In an interview with NPR, Berry also warned against choosing PINs that create uncomplicated patterns on the numeric keypad, such as the combination 2-5-8-0.
What PIN codes should be set?
Experts also recommend avoiding simple combinations and codes based on birth dates, as these can be easily guessed in the event of data theft.
To increase security, it is wise to choose a more complex PIN code. Changing to one that is harder to guess can protect you from losing your savings. Remember that protecting your finances begins with properly securing access to your account.
