Eva Mendes open to acting comeback under Ryan Gosling's direction
She last worked on a film set 10 years ago, and even "worked" might be too strong a term for one small episode. Did she ruin her career? Not exactly. She reveals who she would return to acting for.

Eva Mendes made her debut on the small screen in an episode of "ER", but the true start of her acting career was her appearance in "Children of the Corn V: Fields of Terror". Her biggest hits include "2 Fast 2 Furious" and "Hitch," where she starred alongside Will Smith. Her last film was the 2014 thriller "Lost River" with Saoirse Ronan and Matt Smith, where she made a brief appearance.
Through her work, she met her partner (or perhaps husband?) Ryan Gosling, with whom she has two daughters. They starred together in "The Place Beyond the Pines". Although Mendes insists it wasn't their first meeting, the magic just happened there, on set.
Eva Mendes is 50 years old, and it's rather difficult to call her a cinema icon. Her return would probably not be as sensational as Demi Moore's new roles. However, while being a guest on the morning TV show "Good Morning America," she was asked about returning to film.
"I just worked with Ryan Gosling. He's, like, the best" she said, reflecting on ending her career, which she considers its peak. She values him so much as a filmmaker (even though his directorial debut was considered a flop by critics) that she told the Sunday Times she would return to acting if he directed.
In the same interview, she also openly admits, "I was never in love with acting," and very honestly adds, "I wasn't a great actress."
Do you agree?
