This year's presidential election in the USA has sparked significant controversy, especially after it was announced that Donald Trump would become president. Many were outraged not only due to his controversial statements—like suggesting that visitors from Haiti hunt and eat dogs and cats—but also because of accusations against him, such as being a "convicted felon."
Eva Longoria on moving out of the USA
It's no secret that much of the American show business community does not favor Trump. Some time ago, media reports suggested that Eva Longoria had moved abroad as a protest against the presidency of the then 78-year-old. Her latest interview with "Marie Claire" magazine added some intrigue when she stated that "most Americans aren't so lucky" as she is to be able to build a life in another country.
Indeed, Longoria currently does not live in the USA, but this is not a new development. The actress denied rumors that she left the country for political reasons on the podcast "The View's Behind the Table." During the recording, she even called her friend Ana Navarro to confirm that she didn’t move out of the USA because of Trump.
[She] had moved before Trump - Navarro emphasized.
Eva Longoria's private life: Where does the actress live?
So where does Eva Longoria live now? In recent years, she has been living in two countries: Mexico and Spain. This is partly due to her professional commitments, which she discussed in the same podcast. In Spain, she works on the series "Land of Women," and in Mexico, she's producing the documentary "Eva Longoria: Searching for Mexico."
Longoria speaks Spanish fluently, even though she only started learning the language in 2009. Her motivation to learn may have been her relationship with her current husband, José Bastón, a Mexican film producer. The couple married in 2016 and have one child, a 6-year-old son.
