Eva Longoria, an actress known for the series "Desperate Housewives," admitted that the American chapter of her life is over. Together with her husband, Mexican producer José Bastón, she is working on the CNN miniseries "Searching for Spain," a continuation of last year's "Searching for Mexico."
In her conversation with "Marie Claire," Longoria expressed concerns about the future of the United States, especially in the context of Donald Trump winning the 2024 election. "If he keeps his promises, it's going to be a scary place," warned the actress, who actively supported Kamala Harris's campaign.
Longoria emphasized that she no longer wants to live in Los Angeles, as the city has changed significantly. "I get to escape and go somewhere. Most Americans aren’t so lucky. They’re going to be stuck in this dystopian country, and my anxiety and sadness is for them," she confessed.
Milestone birthday and future plans
Longoria gave the interview alongside her friend, George Clooney, a renowned actor and political activist. Clooney had high praise for Eva. "Talent doesn't sustain you in this business. It requires hard work, determination, and [courage]. We know countless stars who flamed out. The reason she's still so relevant is because she won't take no for an answer," he said.
Longoria, who recently appeared in the series "Only Murders in the Building" and "Land of Women" on Apple TV+, also talked about her upcoming 50th birthday. "For me, age is just a number, but I'm excited. I refuse to believe my greatest success is behind me," she admitted.
The actress also addressed the challenges women face in the entertainment industry. "I show up on time, I show up prepared. Our industry is famous for specifically men failing up. That's great, but I couldn't do that. I don't get a second chance. I think for me, there's no better position than to be underestimated because then you can always over deliver. I'm comfortable outworking anybody in the room," she stated.
