Macron emphasized that EU countries should avoid individual actions in their relations with the USA—as the French government representative communicated.
According to information from the French Ministry of Armed Forces, the defence ministers of France and Germany, Sébastien Lecornu and Boris Pistorius, are scheduled to have a phone conversation later today.
Actions for a "more sovereign Europe"
Earlier, the French president revealed that he had conducted talks with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz about actions to create a "more sovereign" Europe and cooperate with the USA while defending European interests and values.
Macron posted this comment shortly after congratulating Donald Trump on winning the US presidential election, even before the final results were announced. Scholz and many other world leaders also congratulated Trump.
