With extreme snowfall, Austria witnessed the cancellation of all three matches scheduled for Saturday and a Sunday match. Two other matches have been planned for the same day, but their execution looks uncertain at the moment.
Out of five scheduled matches of the Czech top league on Saturday, only one happened-in Olomouc. It was reported that the harsh weather conditions had been so extreme for several days that it made it impossible to conduct any matches.
Single games of the lower leagues in Scotland or Wales and games in the Swiss top league were also postponed.
Germany
A severe snowfall has wreaked chaos in the Bavarian Alps. In Garmisch-Partenkirchen, just a day after the onset of the ski season, the operation of the cable car and cog railway to Zugspitze, the highest German peak, was suspended, as announced by DPA on Saturday.
At the moment, there is a high risk of avalanches in the mountains. Furthermore, the cog railway route is obstructed with a pile of snow, and fallen trees have blocked the tracks - detailed a spokesperson. Workers couldn't reach the upper station. Access to the lower station of the Zugspitze cable car is also limited, as the bus heading there had an accident.
The heavy snowfall and low temperatures also led to a temporary suspension of operations at Munich Airport. Trouble arose on Friday afternoon when 150 flights were cancelled– a spokesperson for the airport confirmed. On Saturday morning it was reported that due to the on-going weather problems, airport operations would be suspended until 12 a.m. Sunday ET. Several accidents have occurred due to the problems in railway and road traffic in Bavaria, as reported by DPA on Saturday.

Due to harsh snowfall, Glasgow Airport in Scotland remains indefinitely closed.
The blizzard turned out to be more intense than we had predicted - declared the authorities of the airport on platform X.
British meteorologists issued a warning on Saturday about blizzards in various parts of Scotland and along the entire east coast of England, and southeastern England.

Several dozen centimeters of snow have blanketed the Czech Republic, leading to car accidents, obstructing major transport routes. The country is also grappling with power outages. The local authorities in the south have declared a state of natural disaster in response.
Avalanche warnings have been sounded in Austria and Switzerland, as reported by Daily Mail.
