The Russian drone attack on Kyiv during the night from Wednesday to Thursday lasted many hours. In the morning, one of the drones hit the apartment building where the Estonian ambassador in Kyiv lives.
Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna noted that the Estonian ambassador "was lucky not to be harmed."
"There were no casualties because no one was on the top floor," reported Ambassador Annely Kolk, who was assigned to the Ukrainian capital in the fall of last year.
The drone hit the top floor, above the diplomat's residence. Firefighters managed to extinguish the fire caused by the attack.
In Kyiv, as the ambassador pointed out, "life goes on; cafes and restaurants are open, but Russian drones are targeting skyscrapers, apartment buildings, and other structures."
She emphasized that this is happening even though in October, there was only one night when no air raid alarm was announced there.
"No one is safe in Ukraine until Russia stops its aggression. Ukraine needs more air defense to protect its residents. We must not get used to this," stated Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna.
