A few days ago, Eric Clapton shared the surprising news that his new album had appeared online. However, it wasn't the album itself that caught the fans' attention, but the unexpected appearance of one of the most outstanding British musicians in history.

The 79-year-old Eric Clapton, one of the most influential guitarists in rock history, is back in the spotlight thanks to the release of his new album "Meanwhile." With nearly six decades of career and about 100 singles under his belt, the legendary musician shared a photo on Instagram promoting the latest release.

The rock legend is posing in a casual outfit: a black jacket, blue shirt, gray top, and beige hat. Interestingly, Clapton's appearance garnered the most attention from fans. Many were surprised at how much the musician has changed since the release of his most popular albums.

The musician informed his fans that the latest album includes exceptional guests. Clapton collaborated with Jeff Beck, Van Morrison, Bradley Walker, Judith Hill, Daniel Santiago, and Simon Climie on its creation.

Clapton is back! He announced a new album

I had to fight to get out because it was going to be pushed back til next year, admitted Clapton in an interview with "Blues Rock Review".

He also added that the album is a collection of songs created over the last three or four years, often at home, due to the pandemic. The recordings, limited by government restrictions, inspired him to name the album "Meanwhile."

The musician also emphasized that although the album is somewhat limited by home recordings, he feels the need to present it to a broader audience. Some of the songs might also feature in a concert tour, although Clapton admits he intends to play classics that the audience expects.

The incredible career of Eric Clapton

Clapton's career began in the early 1960s when he played in small pubs. These venues opened the doors to the blues band The Yardbirds. After the success of the hit "For Your Love," Clapton left the band, gaining even more recognition as a member of the group Cream. Then, he began to be perceived as one of the best guitarists in Great Britain.

After Cream disbanded in 1968, the musician focused on his solo career. He released his debut album, "Eric Clapton," in 1970, which reached 14th place on the UK charts. Since then, Clapton has released a total of 19 solo albums.
