Fans have been eagerly awaiting this news. We finally know when the special episodes of "Doctor Who", featuring the return of David Tennant in his iconic role, will be released. Read on for details.

In celebration of the 60th anniversary of the series, the creators have prepared a delight for the fans. The internet will soon be showcasing three special episodes of "Doctor Who" where the fan-favorite, David Tennant, makes a comeback. The official release dates of the individual episodes have now been announced.

Premiere dates for the special "Doctor Who" episodes

It turns out, the pre-estimated guesses about the premiere dates of the episodes were nearly correct. The first episode, titled "The Star Beast," hits Disney+ on November 25th. The subsequent episodes - "Will Blue Yonder" and "The Gigle" - will be released on the platform after 7 and 14 days, respectively, on December 2 and December 9. These episodes will also be traditionally broadcasted on the BBC in the UK and Ireland.

Plot details of the Special "Doctor Who" episodes

We know that the doctor's old pal, Donna Noble (Catherine Tate), whose memory of their past adventures he erased, will return to the screen. With her amnesia worn off, she decides to help the Doctor save the world. The antagonist Toymaker, portrayed by Neil Patrick Harris ("How I Met Your Mother"), could be a potential obstacle.

The special episodes will also feature Jacqueline King as Sylvia Noble, Karl Collins as Shaun Temple, and Jemma Redgrave as Kate Lethbridge-Stewart. New additions to the cast include Yasmin Finney as Rose Temple-Noble, Ruth Madeley as Shirley Anne Bingham, and Miriam Margolyes as the alien Beep the Meep.

The new Doctor Who

The trailer has confirmed our previous suspicions: The Fifteenth Doctor will be portrayed by Ncuti Gatwa, recognized from his role in "Sex Education". The next, 14th season of the series, this time featuring Gatwa, is scheduled for streaming premier next year. In anticipation of his new role, a special preview episode featuring the actor will also be released in December.
