One simple trick is to use an emergency blanket, which can easily be purchased at a pharmacy for a few dollars.
A pharmacy product can help lower bills
A thermal blanket (also known as an NRC foil) is an essential tool in medical rescue, where it is used to warm up the injured. However, this product can also be useful at home as an insulation layer.
An emergency blanket has two sides—gold and silver. The gold surface absorbs heat, while the silver side retains it inside. Using NRC foil is an effective way to prevent heat loss and keep it inside the room. How is this done?
Simply choose the appropriate size of the foil (it can be cut with scissors), spray the window glass with water, and stick the thermal blanket onto it—with the gold side facing outward and the silver side facing inside the room. The foil will retain the heat generated by the heating inside, reducing energy consumption. As a result, our bills will decrease, and the temperature will stay at the desired level.
Another idea to reduce heating bills is to stick aluminum foil on the wall behind the radiator. This simple solution allows you to recover heat that usually escapes through the walls. Wrap the shiny side of the foil around a piece of cardboard and place it behind the radiator.
The shiny surface of the foil will reflect heat from the radiator, which will help increase the room temperature. If you don't have cardboard, you can also attach the foil directly to the back of the radiator, for example, with masking tape.
Remember not to hang wet clothes on the radiator to maintain the optimal temperature, as they will absorb heat. Always ensure that radiators are exposed and can perform their function without obstruction—this is crucial for maintaining the proper temperature in the home.
