Add sugar and keep stirring until it's completely dissolved. Remove from the heat and let it cool. Strain the syrup through cheesecloth and pour it into clean bottles. Store in a cool, dark place.

Jam from young pine cones

Ingredients:

  • 2.2 pounds of young pine cones,
  • 2.2 pounds of sugar,
  • about 4.2 cups of water,
  • the juice of 1 lemon.

Wash and cut the cones. In a pot, boil water with sugar and lemon juice. Add the cones and simmer on low heat for about 1 hour, occasionally stirring. Pour the finished jam into clean jars. Seal well and let cool.

Tincture from young pine cones

Ingredients:

  • 1.1 pounds of young pine cones,
  • 1.1 pounds of sugar,
  • about 4.2 cups of 40% alcohol vodka.

Wash and slice the cones. Put them in a jar and cover with vodka. Seal the jar tightly and store it in a dark place for about six weeks. After this period, strain the tincture into bottles and reserve it for further filtration after a few days. Store in a cool place.
