Elon Musk's tangled family ties and strained relationships
Elon Musk's private life has sparked interest for years. The number of children he has is the subject of continuous speculation. It's certain that X AE A-Xii and Techno Mechanicus have several siblings, and one of the billionaire's children wants nothing to do with him.
Like many of the rich and famous, Elon Musk has long been the subject of heightened interest from the media. This is due to his business activities and personal situation. The billionaire’s eccentric personality has caused many aspects of his life to be shrouded in mystery.
How many children does Elon Musk have? Daughter wants nothing to do with him
Musk has long been involved in addressing the demographic crisis on his terms. The number of children he has remains a subject of media speculation. Bloomberg maintains that he has fathered twelve children, including three with singer Grimes and another three with Shivon Zilis, his company's head of unique projects. Elon consistently does not comment on the matter.
The names he and Grimes chose for their children also stirred up emotions. The couple's son was intended to be named X Æ A-Xii, and the other children were Exa Dark Siderael and Techno Mechanicus, also known as Tau, as mentioned in Walter Isaacson's biography. The name of the second of them was later said to be changed to "Y" or "Why" or simply "?", as the artist herself mentioned.
She's Y now, or "Why?" or just "?" (But the government won't recognize that).curiosity, the eternal question, .. and such - she wrote on platform X.
Meanwhile, Shivon Zilis, like Elon, does not want to comment on the matter. Thanks to her, twins Strider and Azure were born, and another child whose name has not yet been made public. The rest of the billionaire’s children come from his marriage to Justine Musk. In 2004, twins Griffin and Vivian were born via in vitro fertilization, and Kai, Saxon, and Damian were two years later.
This gives him eleven children, yet the media mentions twelve for a reason. In 2002, Elon and Justine's son, Nevada Alexander Musk, was born, but he died just 10 weeks after birth. The billionaire reportedly mentioned that "the firstborn died in his arms," as noted by Business Insider India.
Much has also been written about Musk’s relationships with his children and their mothers. In October 2023, there were reports that Grimes would meet him in court regarding custody rights for their eldest son. He also has no contact with his daughter Vivian, who has transitioned. The billionaire lamented on Jordan Peterson's podcast that "he lost a son" who was "killed by the woke virus of the mind." Vivian sees it somewhat differently:
He doesn’t know what I was like as a child because he quite simply wasn’t there, and in the little time that he was I was relentlessly harassed for my femininity and queerness. Obviously he can’t say that, so I’ve been reduced to a happy little stereotype f*g-ing along to use at his discretion. I think that says alot about how he views queer people and children in general - she pointed out extensively on the Threads platform.
