Elon Musk's gaming prowess questioned amid ranking controversy
Elon Musk is attempting to make his mark in the video game world. He claims to be among the top players globally in popular titles like Path of Exile 2. However, some critics accuse him of relying on assistance from others to achieve such high rankings.
Many players expressed skepticism during a recent stream where Elon Musk demonstrated his gameplay in Path of Exile 2. Viewers noticed that Musk struggled with basic game mechanics, like opening maps. It appeared as if he had never played at this level before, despite his achievements suggesting otherwise.
Elon Musk a gaming master? "It's a show"
Polish musician Piotr Weltrowski commented on Musk's behavior on Facebook. He highlighted that the head of Tesla, SpaceX, and platform X is attempting to convince the world of his exceptional gaming skills, but his performance tells a different story.
The problem is that he is desperately trying to convince the world that he is an exceptional player because he eagerly posts screenshots with rankings, where, for example, he allegedly ranks in the top 100 or even top 10 players worldwide in a title—wrote Weltrowski.
In his post, Weltrowski points out numerous mistakes Musk made while playing Path of Exile 2, which he believes leave no doubt that Musk's account was developed by someone else.
"Our Elon can't open a map. (...) It looks like some Chinese player who maxed out the character described easier maps to him and put them in a special folder but forgot to tell him how to launch them," he added.
Weltrowski concluded that the issue is Musk's attempt to project the image of a genius player, which doesn't align with reality.
There's something absolutely terrifying about a guy who's brushing up against ruling the world, having such an ego trip that he tries to play on an account maxed out by someone else in a game, to post screenshots on social media that suggest he's at some crazy top level of players on the planet, and then staging a show to prove it, insisting on it, even though absolutely everyone who knows the game he's playing can see he's maybe spent 5 hours on it, he summed up.
