Elon Musk snubs charity autograph request in Poland, attends Holocaust Remembrance Day
"Elon Musk concluded his meeting in Krakow. The charity event organizers had hoped to have him sign a Fiat 126p. This car will be auctioned to raise funds for children affected by accidents. Sadly, that did not transpire," wrote journalist Monika Walus on Platform X. She included a video that captured the situation in her post.
Musk's Visit to Poland Includes Tour of Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum
Musk arrived in Poland on Monday, and made a significant visit to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum in Oswiecim before proceeding to Krakow. He attended ceremonies associated with the International Holocaust Remembrance Day and also a conference on anti-Semitism. This conference was organized by the European Jewish Association (EJA).
The invitation extended to Musk for this symposium comes on the heels of accusations of anti-Semitism against him. These were made last fall when he endorsed an anonymous post on Platform X. The post accused Jewish communities of promoting "hatred against whites" and subsequently causing a "flood of minorities" in the country.
Musk later conceded that his endorsement of this sentiment was "one of the stupidest things" he had done.
